Firmware Engineer

Your role

As a Firmware Engineer, you develop the intelligent layer within our heat pumps. You write embedded firmware that processes real-time data, optimizes systems and improves energy efficiency. You integrate IoT solutions and translate complex algorithms into robust, reliable and scalable code. 

You work closely with colleagues from thermodynamics, mechanical engineering, control systems, and software to solve technical challenges. You analyze and debug embedded systems, run tests and contribute to firmware architecture that directly impacts product quality and user experience. Every line of code you write helps households heat their homes more efficiently, without requiring any effort from the user. 

This is you 

• You are a pragmatic firmware engineer with a passion for embedded systems and sustainable technology: 

• You have at least 2 years of experience in firmware engineering or embedded software in C or C++. 

• You are strong at debugging and testing embedded systems. 

• You are enthusiastic about IoT, connectivity and real-time optimization. 

• You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and think along with colleagues from hardware and systems development. 

• You are passionate about sustainable technology and innovation. 

• You communicate clearly in Dutch and/or English. 

• You are willing to work on-site in Duizel and contribute to building our embedded platforms together. 

Nice to have 

• Experience with FreeRTOS or another RTOS 

• Familiarity with GoogleTest or a comparable test framework 

• Knowledge of protobuf, Modbus, OpenTherm or P1 

• Affinity with testing: unit tests, integration tests or hardware-in-the-loop
